As part of its expansion in France, AESC is recruiting a Contamination Control Engineer / Lead for our Giga Factory project in Douai. This role will be essential for the successful launch of the facility and will involve process engineering, delivery, commissioning, and ongoing production support in the dedicated process area. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a major European battery project and be part of a significant industrial transformation within the electric vehicle marketplace.

🎯 Key Responsibilities

The following description highlights the primary responsibilities of the role:

• Tracking and improving hipot test yield, K-value test yield, and visual check yield for contamination.
• Monitoring and enhancing the control of magnetic particles in slurry, metal particles in electrolyte, and environmental contamination (dustfall).
• Identifying and addressing abnormalities related to contamination in the production line.
• Conducting regular contamination audits and addressing contamination issues.
• Providing exceptional support to production during ramp-up and into mass production.

💼 Required Skills and Experience

The ideal candidate should possess:

• Familiarity with contamination control management in cleanrooms.
• Basic general knowledge of lithium batteries (not mandatory).
• Proficiency in English as a working language, with good communication skills.
• Strong motivation and ability to work in a workshop environment for at least 4 hours per day.

🤝 Preferred but Not Essential Experience

• Previous involvement in battery manufacturing or similar technologies (e.g., high-speed consumer goods, high-speed machining or assembly, printing, web conversion).
• Experience in high-volume, quality-focused environments.

✅ Prerequisites:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; French is strongly advantageous.
• Willingness to travel internationally (<20%).
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and word processing tools.
